His 2nd birthday is just around the corner and I am at loss on what to do for a birthday cake. He breaks out in hives if he has any dairy. They recommended 5 half hour sessions but of course, we did not get that at all from the school district. We are trying to get the RC to pay for speech for the 5 weeks he is out of school but they are having us jump through hoops. We are not giving up though! In the last few months, my husband figured out that my son took to phonics and this nonverbal child started sounding out words. Now he has about 25 words that he says on a consistent basis and he can read! Leap Frog has some Learning Factory videos that have been helpful. On a side note, our son was also evaluated by Cal State LA and they informed me that he had a phonological disorder. They don't support the diagnosis of Apraxia. Another day, another diagnosis!
